Brian E. Divney is the founder and managing member of Timberline Capital Management, LLC. While at Timberline he has managed alternative investment strategies using a bottom up, fundamental approach to security selection.In addition, he built and managed a single family office for a member of the Forbes 400.In this capacity, Mr. Divney managed portfolios across multiple asset classes, advised on asset allocation, provided due diligence of traditional and alternative asset managers as well as co-investments, arranged financing and established risk management and reporting systems.
Prior to founding Timberline in 1999, Mr. Divney served as a portfolio manager at Society Hill Capital, managing a long/short equity strategy focused on the financial services sector.In addition, he was an equity research analyst at both Smith Barney and Prudential Securities following banks, thrifts and specialty finance.Mr. Divney began his career with Neuberger Berman.
Mr. Divney holds an MBA in finance and international business from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a BA in economics from Rutgers University.He is a member of The CFA Society of Philadelphia and the Mid-Atlantic Hedge Fund Association.
